Amerado was named the Best Rapper of the Year at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony, which was held on the evening of May 6, 2023, in the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
The rapper defeated Medikal, Strongman, Lyrical Joe, and Teephlow in a fierce battle. With his song "Obiaa boa," the rapper took first place in the "Best Rap Performance" category.
Amerado, who was overjoyed to get the honor, declared that Strongman had helped him win the prize on behalf of all Kumasi rappers. Deloris Frimpong Maso, better known as Delay, a TV host, was also recognized for helping him in his profession.
The category, one of the most contentious categories, was won by Lyrical Joe the previous year, sparking a "rap beef" between him and Amerado. In a flash, the latter accepts Lyrical Joe's award.
